The Laser Microgage line brings measuring and alignment versatility to industry in a simple, easy to use, affordable package. The Laser Microgage 2000 has been refined for aligning, measuring, positioning, calibrating, and leveling applications in industry, and delivers measuring resolution of 0.0001 inch with working ranges of 80 feet or more.

The Microgage 2000 is fully digital and versatile to accommodate a wide range of applications. The laser transmitter is available in several different cylindrical housings for quick insertion into fixtures and mounts, as well as in a standard version with precision machined mounting surfaces and a 10 arc-second machinist's level. The digital display accepts a variety of remote receivers expanding the possibilities for different alignment projects. Simple to setup, the Microgage 2000 can be quickly adapted to all of the difficult applications throughout your facility.

Benefits

  • Easy-to-use — removes guesswork from alignment
  • Minimizes machinery downtime
  • Improves efficiency and in-house capabilities
  • Supports preventative maintenance efforts
  • Reduces dependence on outside alignment contractors
  • Cuts machinery installation costs
  • Highly affordable
  • Rapid payback on investment

Practical and flexible for the changing demands of today's industry, the Microgage 2000 is expanding the capabilities for precision measuring and alignment, while saving you time and money. We encourage you to contact our staff with your questions and application ideas.

How it works

The Microgage has two key components, a laser transmitter and a digital receiver. The laser housing is machined with a flat base and sides, and includes a variety of mounting points. A highly collimated laser beam is projected from the end of the laser and is parallel to the base and sides of the housing. An electronic receiver picks up the laser beam and provides a digital readout showing the height of the laser beam. If the laser transmitter and receiver are resting on a flat surface, the display will read zero. If the transmitter or the receiver is then raised off the surface, the differential position will then be displayed. The display provides readings in 0.0001 inch increments and also shows the strength of the laser signal. A microprocessor inside the display allows the user to change the measuring units, store offsets, and a variety of other practical features. Combined with different optical and mechanical attachments, the Microgage 2000 can be adapted to a vast number of measuring and industrial alignment projects.

Our Customers Say

"We actually used it (Cylindrical Laser) for aligning the Power Rollers the turbine rotor sits on during inspections and testing. It went extremely well. Didn’t suffer the delays we encountered last year when the turbine rotor shouldered up on the power roller (cost us about 20 hours). It has already paid for itself. Thanks for your help."

Edward W. Williams
TG/MSR Project Manager
Brunswick Nuclear Plant,
Progress Energy Carolinas

"We purchased the Microgage 2000 and the Lateral Pitch Plate for measuring flatness, parallelism, and other applications. We have been extremely satisfied with the entire process. The quality of the parts we received is of the highest order and the accuracy of the measurements is truly spectacular."

Dr. Joshua R. Williams,
Sr. Scientist
XStream Systems, Inc

"This is just an update for you and a testimony to the great help that your product was in assisting us during our installation and maintenance work and shutdown periods. We installed the wedge blocks with ease and they performed in the very same manner. Great product!"

Jeffery W. Evans
Westinghouse Electric Co, LLC

"We are having great success with this unit (Microgage 2D Universal Kit) in moving my machines this year."

Martin Usher
Apollo Machine

"The sales department was very knowledgeable and the technical department was very thorough. The Microgage 2000 was exactly what we needed. We are extremely happy with the results."

Dr. Joshua R. Williams
Senior Scientist
XStream Systems, Inc.

"One thing that stands out and has been commented on by all who have seen the equipment is its design and build quality. It is a beautifully engineered and built piece of equipment, which is a pleasure to use. Well Done!"

Nenad Sarcevic, Engineer
Airbus UK

"We purchased the Microgage 2000 Universal Kit to align a test apparatus so that the floor of the test tank and the left wall are straight down their respective lengths of 80 feet to 0.0002 inch or better. The floor and left wall also had to be perpendicular to each other

The laser system worked extremely well, proving us and our customer the confidence that the installation when as planned within the tolerances."

Drew Disney
Project Coordinator/Quality Assurance Manager
Hewitt (Brockville) Ltd

"We have been using your equipment regularly to align our scanners for last 4 years with excellent results! After using these we actually wonder how we could align our scanners with out using this tool! These have indeed helped us to improve our sensors measurement accuracy many fold."

Manish Garg
Jasch Industries Ltd.

"We have been very pleased with its (Microgage 2D) performance, as well as Ken Nelson’s advice and help. It is quite likely we will be purchasing other units in the future."

Walt Corey
President
Pickwick Manufacturing Services

“I used the Laser for 6 weeks at the factory in China. It is an awesome tool. I aligned everything on the machine and managed to get the whole machine straight, level and square. I had several fixtures made the worked well for quick setup. My only regret is that I couldn't get them to purchase the upgraded controller. Thanks for everything. You have a quality product that delivers exactly as advertised.”
